I performed with the joint Jullard-Royal Academy Orchestra in the BBC Proms, conducted by the venerable John Adams. I was part of the off-stage brass for Respighi’s Fountains Of Rome. When the lights went down in the Albert Hall, the stage lights were so bright, I couldn’t see the packed-out audience and in a strange way, the pre-concert nerves went away immediately. To perform with amazing musicians from two of the best Conservatories in the world was fantastic.
